Cub Scouts from across Blaydon & District once again set sail for adventure as they took part in this year’s Paisley Challenge Cub Competition, held on Sunday 21st June at Chopwell Woods.

Continuing the much-loved pirate theme in honour of the competition’s founder, Phil Paisley, teams tackled a range of exciting challenges designed to test their teamwork, problem-solving, and Scouting skills.

Young people navigated their way through the woods, cracked lock box puzzles, put their lifesaving knowledge to the test with CPR, and completed a variety of pirate-themed activities, all while embracing the spirit of adventure and friendly competition.

After a fantastic day of fun, determination, and teamwork, it was 1st Winlaton Scout Group who successfully defended their title, winning the coveted Paisley Shield for the second year in a row.

A huge thank you goes to all of the volunteers, leaders, young people, and supporters who made the event such a success. The Paisley Challenge continues to celebrate Phil Paisley’s legacy by bringing Cub Scouts together for another memorable day of adventure, friendship, and Scouting spirit.
