The Sherlock Shield

The Competition

The Sherlock Shield is a fun and engaging Beaver competition designed to test teamwork, problem-solving and detective skills. Beavers take part in a series of exciting challenges including code breaking, puzzles, first aid, OS map skills and teamwork activities. After completing each challenge, teams receive a new clue to help them progress through the story.

The event follows an interactive mystery storyline, where Beavers must work together to solve a case. In this year’s challenge, the Beavers were tasked with discovering who had stolen the group’s 40th anniversary birthday cake. Using their skills and the clues provided, teams worked their way through the investigation to uncover the culprit.

Alongside the challenges, the day also includes time for fun and social activities. This year, Beavers enjoyed time playing with LEGO in the afternoon before gathering together for the final results and, of course, to enjoy the cake.

The inaugural winners of The Sherlock Shield were Winlaton’s team Poirot, who impressed judges with their teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
