This year has been a fantastic one for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award within Blaydon & District Scouts. We’re proud to share that 14 young people have successfully completed their Gold expeditions, with participants not only from our own district but also from Northumberland County and Darlington District.

In addition, 10 Explorers have completed their Silver practice expeditions, building skills, resilience, and teamwork along the way. Expeditions have taken place across stunning landscapes, including the North Yorkshire Moors and Northumberland.

The adventure doesn’t end there—over the coming months, our young people will be working hard to complete their volunteering, skills, and physical sections, with Gold participants also preparing for their residential opportunities.

If you’re interested in starting your own Duke of Edinburgh’s Award journey within Blaydon & District, we’ll be opening a new Bronze intake this October. To find out more, email [email protected].
