Members of Blaydon Explorer Scouts proudly volunteered their time this weekend to support the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal. The Explorers spent the day at Asda Gateshead, helping to run the in-store poppy stall and engaging with shoppers to raise funds and awareness.
Asda’s Community Champion, Donna Robinson, shared her thanks:
“A very big thank-you to the girls from Blaydon Explorer Scouts who answered my call for help. They gave up their time to come and man the poppy table, and we have been honoured to have these wonderful, polite girls in store.”
The Poppy Appeal plays a vital role in supporting serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. We’re incredibly proud of our Explorers for representing Scouting so positively and for helping to make a difference in our local community.
Well done to everyone involved.
