Blaydon & District Scouts are delighted to share the wonderful news that our very own Lead Volunteer from 1st Chopwell Scout Group, Brian “Skip” Stubbs, has been honoured with a Red Kite Award by our local MP, Liz Twist.
Skip has been a dedicated and inspirational volunteer with 1st Chopwell since 1969, giving more than five decades of service to young people in our community. Since 1976, he has led the group with unwavering passion, commitment, and an enthusiasm for Scouting that has shaped generations of young people and volunteers alike.

Receiving a Red Kite Award is a testament to Skip’s exceptional contribution—not only to the young people of Chopwell, but to Scouting across the district. His leadership, kindness, and endless energy make him a role model to us all.
On behalf of everyone at Blaydon & District Scouts, congratulations, Skip!
Thank you for everything you do. We couldn’t be prouder.
