Cub Scouts from across Blaydon & District set sail for adventure as they took part in this year’s Paisley Challenge Cub Competition, held with a swashbuckling pirate theme in honour of its founder, Phil Paisley.
Teams braved a series of pirate-themed checkpoints including Walk the Plank, Archery, a Pirate Quiz, Find the Treasure, and even some Pirate First Aid – all designed to test teamwork, skills, and spirit.
After a day filled with laughter, competition, and the occasional rain shower amidst mostly warm and sunny weather, it was Queen Anne’s Revenge from 1st Winlaton Scout Group who sailed to victory, taking home the coveted Paisley Shield.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, organised, and supported the event. Phil’s legacy continues to inspire fun and adventure across our district.
