As a final part to a busy summer, a small group from the District’s Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit visited National Trust Brimham Rocks (near Pately Bridge in North Yorkshire) over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Over the space of six hours, the group spent time bouldering and scrambling on some of the incredible rock formations and set up some climbing and abseiling routes on some of the more traditional crags.
It was a good opportunity to practice some climbing and belaying skills and to provide a further introduction to climbing outdoors, including the set-up of rope systems.
Despite one sudden, sharp shower everyone had an enjoyable day out and thought that Brimham Rocks was a super place to visit for the day. Thanks to Leaders David and Brandon for organising and supervising the day out.
