Blaydon District Beavers held their biggest annual Beaver Sleepover at Gibside Estate over the weekend of the 7th / 8th May. In total, 28 young people attended from all 5 Beaver colonies in the district.
Over the weekend Beavers took part in lots of activities, including completing the first stage of the Emergency Aid activity badge, building bug hotels, toasting marshmallows and singing campfire songs, decorating and eating biscuits and learning some new games.
For some of the children it was their first night away from home and although one or two were a little nervous beforehand, they all stayed overnight without any problems and were full of energy on Sunday.
The children made some new friends and along with the leaders and young leaders, all had a great time.
