On Tuesday evening, Chopwell Scouts launched their involvement with a million hands, the new charity partnership from the Scout Association.
The scheme sees half a million Scouts, or a million hands, join together to tackle four social issues of Dementia, Disability, Mental wellbeing and Clean water & sanitation.
Following a discussion, activities and games at Chopwell, the Scout section decided that they would focus on the issue of disability and how it affects people in today’s world. Over the coming months they hope to learn about the issues, tackle them head on and raise funds at the same time. The young people will also earn lots of badges based on the work they will be doing, including the new Community Impact Staged Badge.
