Young Leaders Scheme
Page Last Updated On August 10, 2010 by Dave Stokes
For many of our Explorer Scouts, playing a responsible role in the community is achieved by becoming a Young Leader, following a defined training scheme and working with either the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout or Scout sections in the District. This option is also open to members of Girlguiding UK who are looking to work with young people.
While this is an optional part of Explorer Scouting, this is an easy way to fulfill the Volunteering part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Young Leader training scheme provides young people with valuable leadership skills which they can take into the work place or on to higher education.
