1st Winlaton Scout Group is located adjacent to Winlaton Community Centre, in the heart of Winlaton. Follow the ‘Where are we?‘ link on the left to access a map of where we meet.
1st Winlaton Scout Group has an active Beaver Scout Colony, meeting from 17:30pm to 18:45pm on Wednesday’s evenings in term time. Beavers enjoy a wide range of activities and themes including crafts, games, visits, trips and sleepovers. They also take part in both District and County Beaver Events such as Craft Days, Sleepovers, Parties, Picnics and Pantomimes.
The Beaver Scout Colony is open to boys and girls from their 6th to their 8th birthday.

1st Winlaton Scout Group has an active Cub Scout Pack, meeting from 18:30pm to 20:00pm on Wednesday evenings in term time.
The Cub Scout Pack is open to boys and girls from their 8th birthday until they are 10½ and currently has places available.

1st Winlaton Scout Group has a very active Scout Troop , meeting from 19:00pm to 21:00pm on Tuesday evenings. The Scout Troop meet every Tuesday including school holidays, with the exception of Christmas. Our membership is drawn from Winlaton and the surrounding area, with Scouts from Winlaton, Rowlands Gill, High Spen, Greenside, Blaydon and further afield.
We provide a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping (with three or more camps a year) and recent activities have included hiking, climbing and abseiling, raft building, pioneering, high ropes challenges, beach barbecues, bivouacs, archery, tomahawk throwing and many more. This is balanced with an indoor programme based around Tuesday evening Troop meetings and which includes activities like first aid, community involvement, environmental and international issues.
As well as having fun, the Scout Troop helps young people to become more confident, self-reliant and considerate. Scouts is open to boys and girls from the age of 10½ until their 14th birthday (with some flexibility on ages) and we currently have places available.
