Not forgetting the three from Cleveland, a truly Regional event then. With a participant:instructor ratio of 2:1 an amazing amount of experience was available and shared between everyone. My gratitude to the volunteer instructors who imparted their knowledge in such a friendly way, and the other helpers who fed and looked after us. [...] Monday was such a sunny day that we all went to Whitby to visit the beach and the local tourist attractions. Some of the Scouts decided the sea wasn’t the best idea for them and made sand castles on the beach whilst some of the others got right into the swimming spirit (along with some of the leaders!).
